The 2022 NFL season had a ton of storylines.

The Jacksonville Jaguars made the playoffs, the Los Angeles Chargers also made the playoffs, and the New York Giants and Seattle Seahawks defied the odds and are in the postseason tournament as well.

The Seahawks are perhaps the most incredible story of the season.

In the offseason, they traded away Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos for a slew of draft picks, beginning a new era in the Pacific Northwest.

Surprisingly enough, the Broncos won just five games and Wilson looked like a shell of his former self.

On the other hand, the Seahawks are preparing for a playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers, and they have a top-5 pick in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft.

The Seahawks trade Wilson, sign Geno Smith, and – in what was supposed to be a rebuild – earn a playoff spot and have the fifth pick in the draft.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll continues to impress as an NFL head coach, and Smith had a stunning season as a bridge QB.

Smith finished the year with 4,282 yards, 30 scores, and 11 interceptions as well as another 366 rushing yards as Seattle finished ninth in the NFL in points per game.

Sometimes, trading away a superstar QB for draft picks doesn’t work out.

For Seattle, it worked out magnificently.

The Seahawks are getting ready for a playoff game and they are going to be picking really early in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

What a season in Seattle.
