The Kansas City Chiefs were unable to pull off another win over the Philadelphia Eagles this week.

The two teams matched up in a Super Bowl rematch, but this time, the Eagles came away victorious.

While it was a close game on the scorecard, two plays might have been the difference in the Chiefs’ loss.

After the game, Mike Sando of The Athletic pointed to Patrick Mahomes’ red zone interception and Travis Kelce’s red zone fumble as two key moments in this contest.

He also mentioned that, even though the Chiefs don’t have an elite receiver room, they can typically overcome it if Mahomes and Kelce play to their full potential.

With the interception, fumble, and Kelce’s drops in mind, Sando pointed to the fact that the Chiefs barely lost.

Mahomes had a fantastic opportunity to put the game away.

The Chiefs were driving down the field, poised to put up at least three points to break the game’s tie of 7-7.

Instead, Mahomes took a shot at the back of the endzone and was picked off by Kevin Byard.

While the Chiefs’ defense stopped the Eagles on the next drive, and they ended up scoring a touchdown on the following drive, this was a missed chance for Mahomes.

It might not have been the only missed play in this game, but it did happen at a crucial moment.

The same goes for Kelce’s fumble.

The Chiefs were up by three points, and the Eagles were coming off a touchdown drive.

This was another missed opportunity in the red zone, something they can not do, especially against the league’s best teams.
