Lethalogica | Film Threat

In Luke Tanner and Haley Leary’s horror short, Lethalogica, the pair plays a happy couple, Guy and Marjorie, cleaning up the table after their evening dinner. The typical evening comes to an immediate halt when Majorie declares that her breath still smells like “Adam’s dick.” In Momento-like fashion, our couple’s evening moves backward in time to uncover the secret behind “Adam’s dick.” Moving beyond this point will be a spoiler. But, trust me, it’s worth the ride till the end.
“…moves backward in time to uncover the secret behind ‘Adam’s dick.’”
Running at just over five minutes, Lethalogica is both a hilarious and horrifying short. It’s beautifully paced and escalates the tension wonderfully. With each flashback comes a bit of comedy for the laugh and a bit of gore as a stomach-churning pairing. If you’ve ever been to a film festival’s shorts program, comedy and horror shorts are very similar in structure. They consist of set-ups followed by punchlines, with the ending being either comedic or horrific. Lethalogica is a nice blending of the two. I’ll just say, well done, and when I recover, I’ll watch it again.
