Leslie Grace shares Batgirl footage

Leslie Grace Batgirl

The axing of Batgirl from the HBO Max release schedule was a major letdown for comic book movie fans. But that doesn’t mean we won’t at least get small samples here and there. Leslie Grace has shared behind-the-scenes footage of the Batgirl production on her TikTok.

The short compilation, which Leslie Grace captioned with, “I couldn’t resist..”, shows Grace on the set of Batgirl in makeup and performing stunt choreography, in addition to her childishly riding a rocking horse while in partial Batgirl gear. There is also a brief clip from the actual movie of Barbara Gordon being choked by an unseen assailant.

Hopefully this isn’t all we will ever see of Batgirl, which was officially removed from the release calendar in August. However, it’s highly unlikely we will get full, complete footage. The best we can hope for is cast and crew like Leslie Grace doing their civic duty by sharing clips. However, these will most certainly be few and far between, as directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah discovered that footage was even blocked from servers. Fans did get another small taste last month when footage of Brendan Fraser as Firefly leaked.

The fortunate few–that is, not mere mortals–were invited to secret “funeral” screenings at Warner Bros.

Brendan Fraser, who played Ted Carson/Firefly, called the scrapping of Batgirl “disappointing”, saying fans were missing out on a “dynamo” performance from Leslie Grace.

Shortly after it was announced that Batgirl was being shelved, Leslie Grace took to Instagram to show gratitude to loyal fans. “To every Batgirl fan – THANK YOU for the love and belief, allowing me to take on the cape and become, as Babs said best, “my own damn hero!” Batgirl for life!”
